FORUM & BLOG RULES (please read before posting)

Rule #1 Keep it positive

The purpose of LanaReidOnline is to promote the positive appreciation of Black men not detract from it. Negative contributions, slandering, bashing and more can and may be removed by the site administrator(s). We understand that some topics/discussions will be of a negative nature and need to be explored by the community. For example "After School program targets overwhelming amount of unwed Black teenage fathers in City X" is fine, since the community needs to hear about it. However "Johnny so and so is a loser, deadbeat Dad" doesn't benefit the community. Please do something other than insult people on the internet. Should someone post negative content it will be deleted.

Rule #2: Respect your fellow members
All registered users must address fellow members with the utmost respect at all times. If you do not agree with a fellow member, be courteous in your response. Thomas Jefferson said it best: "When I hear another express an opinion which is not mine, I say to myself, he has a right to his opinion, as I to mine.”

Because of the limitations of text-based communication, the expression of intent can be tricky. One of the most common triggers of rule violations is the misinterpretation of intent behind a post. Use smilies often, and remember, it never hurts to begin a response with "In my opinion"...

If you do not address everyone on LanaReidOnline with respect, be prepared to lose your membership.


Rule #3: Do not question moderation policies/actions in the blogs/forums
If you have a disagreement with a moderator (If your thread gets deleted, if you get a warning, etc.), DO NOT post your complaint publicly on the blogs/forums. If you have a problem with a moderator's actions, PM or email the moderator privately. If the moderator's response is unsatisfactory, email the administrator (username: Lana).

We take all complaints seriously, but posting your dissatisfaction publicly will result in a rule violation.


Rule #4: No blatant advertising
The posting of non-solicited advertisements in the blogs/forums will not be tolerated but we do believe in assisting others spread the word about their business efforts. Please just simply post topics in our forums, blogs or other areas that are related to the LanaReidOnline philosophy and then at the closing of your post place links back to your websites or what it is you are trying to promote. That way everyone wins.
